24/03/2010 New UK Space Agency Corporate Identity
The new UK Space Agency was launched by Lord Mandelson, Secretary of State for Business, Innovation & Skills and Science, and Lord Drayson, Innovation Minister, at The Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre in London on Tuesday 23 March.
The launch featured the new corporate identity for the agency, created by Folio. “We were delighted to win this exciting commission against stiff competition from many other high profile design businesses,” commented Ian Wilson, Folio Client Service Director. “The space and satellite industry is one of the UK’s unsung success stories, which supports 68,000 jobs in the UK directly and indirectly and contributes £6.5bn to the economy. The new logo will play a key part in focusing attention on this high-tech, high-skilled sector which is underpinned by a leading edge scientific, technical and engineering capability in both industry and academia,” he continued. This project was the second big win for Folio in March, following on from the vital role it played in producing graphics for the Government’s recent Command Paper on the future of high speed rail, published on 11 March. |
